10 minIf using homemade chutney, fry the onions for 1-2 minutes. Add brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, and water. Mix and bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring every minute until it reaches a caramel consistency. Set aside to cool.
